One of Costa Rica's premier homes, the estate is surrounded by coffee fields in an always spring-like altitude of 1,001m (3,300 ft.) It overlooks the mountains of Escazu, Barba Volcano and across the Rio Tambor valley is the beautiful twin-spires of the church in Tambor de Alajuela.

Construction

Built in 1982 by a Venezuelan architect. There are four bedrooms and six baths in three connected buildings. The enclosed living area is about 800 square meters. Teak, massive almendro columns,  arched-door trim, and Italian and Spanish ceramic tiles are prominent. Internal gardens and a three-tiered fountain add a resort-like ambiance.

A party rancho of 87 square meters is adjacent to a swimming pool of 45 square meters. The carpentry features a lighted indoor basketball court, measuring 142 square meters. An internal cistern provides emergency water. Direct TV satellite is wired to two areas. There is a two-car garage along with secure parking for many more vehicles.

Exterior Features

The estate lot measures a total of 5,439 square meters or about 1.6 acres. Offering embassy-like protection, a three-meter high concrete wall running 301 meters surrounds the entire property. The main egress is a sliding gate installed by Assessos Automatico in 2004.

Location

The home is an easy fifteen minute drive from the International airport (SJo), ten minutes from central Alajuela, eight minutes from a major supermarket, and five minutes past the resort Las Orquedeas on the road  to Volcano Poas.
